Morang, July 9: The newly appointed Chief Minister of Koshi Province Uddav Thapa said that his government would abide by the verdict of the Supreme Court.
Talking to the media persons following the expansion of the Cabinet, CM Thapa reiterated that any decision coming from the highest court in the country in response to the writ petition filed by CPN UML against the formation of government in the Koshi Province would be obeyed by his government.
It may be noted that the UML has registered a writ petition in the Supreme Court against the newly formed government in the Koshi Province calling it “unconstitutional”. CM Thapa clarified that he hurried to expand his Cabinet in view of the implementation of the upcoming budget from the new fiscal year, beginning July 17.
He further argued that the appointment of the Minister of Finance was in consideration of the fact that since all works relating to the budget were related to the finances and it was a prime task of the government.
CM Thapa shared that consensus was forged among the coalition partners in the province for the formation of Cabinet and there was no dispute on it. He further divulged that two candidates would be recommended each by the Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre).
Likewise, CPN (Unified Socialist) and Samajwadi Party Nepal would recommend one candidate each to represent their parties in the cabinet, according to him.
The incumbent provincial government would take the vote of confidence within 30 days, he added. RSS
