Kathmandu, June 2: A delegation of Nepal’s Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), led by party President Rabi Lamichhane, met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The meeting was held under the BJP’s “Know BJP” initiative and focused on strengthening democratic dialogue, sharing political experiences, and enhancing party-to-party engagement between Nepal and India, according to BJP’s statement.
Welcoming the delegation, Nitin Nabin highlighted the historic and close ties between Nepal and India, rooted in shared cultural heritage and strong people-to-people relations. He said such interactions help deepen democratic cooperation and mutual understanding.
During the discussion, the RSP delegation expressed interest in learning about the BJP’s membership system, candidate selection process, organizational structure, and grassroots outreach mechanisms. Nabin explained how the BJP’s strength is built through continuous public engagement and participation at the booth level.
The two sides also exchanged views on governance, political participation, and the growing role of Generation Z in shaping democratic discourse and future leadership.
Senior BJP leaders, including National General Secretary Arun Singh, MPs Sanjay Jaiswal and Bansuri Swaraj, and BJP Foreign Affairs Department head Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, were present during the meeting.
The RSP delegation also visited the BJP Media Centre and the party’s Central Library as part of the program.
