Kathmandu, June 3: Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has said achievements of democratic republic are multifaceted.
After observing the photo exhibition on Monday organised by the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) on the occasion of Republic Day, 2081, former President mentioned that federal democratic republic system is the best system of governance in the world.
Stating that activities to institutionalize republic have been moving ahead with responsibility, he stressed that political parties should carry out activities with consensus, coordination and understanding to strengthen the republic system.
The former President explained that development activities have been accelerated at different places of the country after the establishment of republic, adding latest technology has been connecting the country and the world.
“Education and health sector also expanded after establishment of federal republic system. Political, economic and social development determine the speed of democracy”, he shared.
“The constitution was promulgated with consensus of political parties. Some dissatisfaction was expressed during promulgation of the constitution. Later the sides, who expressed dissatisfaction, have now been raising their demands accepting the constitution. It is the biggest achievement of the democracy”, underscored former President Yadav.
He pointed out the need of foresight of political parties as fast results could not be achieved in democratic republic system, adding economic and social system should be forwarded by institutionalizing democracy. #rss #nepal
