Bharatpur, June 26: Voting has begun for picking office-bearers of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
The second phase of elections for picking office-bearers has taken place as part of ongoing general convention in Chitwan.
It may be noted that party President Rabi Lamichhane and Dr. Swarnim Wagle have been elected the president and open vice president unopposed, respectively.
Elections are underway for the positions of female vice president, general secretary, two open assistant general secretaries, and one female assistant general secretary.
Sobita Gautam and Dr. Tosima Karki are in fray for female vice president. Candidates for the general secretary include Manish Jha, Bipin Acharya, Sagar Dhakal, and Ganesh Karki.
Aspirants for the general secretary, Kabindra Burlakoti, Ranju Darshana, Pramod Neupane, Ganesh Parajuli, Jagadish Kharel, Shishir Khanal, and Rajunath Pandey have also withdrawn their candidacies.
Although efforts were on to forge consensus in regard to the office bearers, voting started later than the scheduled time, informed Bhuwan KC, chief of the election commission.
Candidates for general secretary (men) are Asim Shah, Ramesh Prasain, Yagnamani Neupane, Sulabh Kharel, Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, Milan Limbu, Rajiv Khatri, Bijay Jairu, Hari Dhakal, and Himesh Pant.
Candidates vying for assistant general secretary (women) are Juli Yadav and Bidushi Sharma, Kamini Kumari Chaudhary, Nisha Dangi and Rima Biwokarma.#nepal #rss
