RSP stakes claim over Home Ministry

The central committee meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has re-elected Rabi Lamichhane as the party President on Sunday. General Secretary and party spokesperson Dr Mukul Dhakal informed that Lamichhane had been elected party President again.

Spokesperson Dhakal argued that after Lamichhane regained the post of party President, his party stakes its claim over the home ministry portfolio. “Our claim for home ministry in the Cabinet is intact,” he added.

Lamichhane has been re-elected as President unanimously. Some problems surfaced in the party, not in the government coalition. So, we deserve the right to decide on allocation of home ministry, Dhakal reiterated, adding that RSP would hold discussion with other parties in the coalition to this regard.

Meanwhile, the second meeting of the party held under the chairmanship of President Lamichhane decided to continue the schedule of expanding party organization at province level. Earlier, it was postponed till coming February 4.

Lamichhane who had lost his posts of lawmaker and home minister after being non-citizen national with Supreme Court verdict on Friday, acquired the Nepali citizenship again on Sunday, following the due legal procedure. RSS
