Kathmandu, Aug 31: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is set to finalize its candidate today for the upcoming by-election in Rupandehi Constituency No. 3, scheduled for November 3 (Kartik 17).
An official meeting of the party, scheduled for 5pm this evening at the party office, will announce the official candidate. With this, the RSP will become the first party to declare its candidate for Rupandehi-3.
A total of nine individuals had submitted their interest in contesting the election under the party’s banner. They are Sulav Kharel, Parthivendra Upadhyay, Dr. Lekh Jung Thapa, Gyanu Paudyal, Jit Bahadur Gupta, Kusum Maharjan, Rachana Chhetri, Poonam Agrawal, and Madhu Prasad Aryal.
Before selecting the official nominee, the party conducted a preliminary election among the nine aspirants, and carried out extensive interviews and caucus.
Earlier, the RSP had invited applications for candidacy between August 23 to 27. #nepal #RSP
