Janakpurdham, Jan 25: Both the candidates of the ruling coalition have won in the elections for two posts from Madhes province under the National Assembly Member Election 2080 BS.
According to the results of voting held at 4.30 pm today, senior leader of Nepali Congress Anand Prasad Dhungana from other (open) group and Puja Choudhary from Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) candidate from women’s group were elected.
Election Officer Chitra Bahadur Gurung said Dhungana received 67 votes from the provincial assembly and 201 votes from the municipality. Dhungana received a total of 7,370 weitage votes.
Similarly, Chaudhary received 76 votes from the state assembly and 250 votes from the municipality.
Kumari Bijeta Jha, a candidate from CPN (UML), received 25 votes from the provincial assembly and 61 votes from the municipality, while Ramshankar Mahaseth of the Janamat Party received 14 votes from the provincial assembly and 818 votes from the municipality.
Similarly, for the women’s group, Usha Devi Tharuni, the UML candidate, received 25 votes from the state assembly and 59 votes from the municipality.
Bohora, Bhatta and Chand elected from Sudurpashchim Province
Baldev Bohora and Narayanadatta Bhatta of Nepali Congress and Renu Chand of CPN (Maoist Centre) who have become candidates for National Assembly member from Sudurpaschim province on behalf of the ruling alliance have won.
In the elections held in Dhangadhi today, Bohora from other groups, Bhatta from the disabled group and Chand from the women’s group won.
In the other group, Bohora got 4,328 weitage votes while CPN (UML) candidate Ishwari Prasad Kharel got 1,696 votes. In the disabled category, Bhatta received 4,419 votes while Ramchandra Joshi received 1,519 votes. In addition, in the women’s group, the winner Chanda got 4,453 votes and the candidate Sabitra Devi Ghimire got 1,571 votes.
