Kathmandu, May 26: The ruling Nepali Congress party has commenced its office bearers’ meeting on Monday morning at party president Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha.
The meeting is set to discuss the party’s recent activities, current political developments, and the upcoming fiscal year’s budget. A major focus of the discussion will also be on Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
Home Minister Lekhak has been accused of facilitating a bribery involving the misuse of “visit visas” at Tribhuvan International Airport. There are growing demands for his resignation to allow an impartial investigation, with several party leaders, including Dr Shekhar Koirala, suggesting that he should step down on moral grounds.
Lekhak, however, has denied any wrongdoing and has challenged his critics to prove the allegations, stating that he would resign from politics entirely if found guilty. He also informed that he has already requested time to address the House of Representatives on Jestha 13 (May 26) to clarify his position on the matter. #nepal #RameshLekhak #NepaliCongress
