Kathmandu, Dec 10, 2019 : Nepali team has defeated visiting Bhutan football team and won the gold medal. This is the second consecutive win for Nepali team in South Asian Games (SAG).
In today’s final, Nepal scored a goal in the first half of the game played at Dasharath Stadium on Tuesday.
The first goal was scored by Abhishek Rijal (7) in the 16th minute. Nepali team had a high morale because of home advantage and support from huge crowd of Nepali football fans. Likewise, Nepal had also defeated Bhutan in the league round.
But, in 37th minute Bhutanese team captain Chencho Gyalchen scored a goal, thereby making the score 1-1.
In the second half, Nepali player Sunil Bal scored for the team. Both sides tried hard to score but eventually failed to garner further goals.
