Kathmandu, Dec 12: Samakhushi Transport Pvt. Ltd. has launched 20 electric microbuses with a total investment of Rs 103 million. The company, which has been providing transport services since 2057 BS, began operating the electric microbuses from today.
Chairperson Sanukaji Prajapati stated that the microbuses were introduced to address the transportation needs of residents in Kathmandu’s northern areas. “There is high passenger demand in the Kathmandu Valley, and we hope the addition of these microbuses will ease travel for commuters,” he said.
Currently, Samakhushi Transport operates 80 microbuses and 50 large buses. The company serves routes in northern Kathmandu, including Baniyatar, Bhatkeko Pul, Manmaiju, Jhor, Tokha, Basundhara, and Mhepi, according to Finance Manager Dipendra KC. The company also employs approximately 350 drivers and assistants.
