KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has decided to close the schools from January 11. A decision has been taken to close the schools from January 11 to January 29 as the corona virus infection is on the rise, said Spokesperson of the Ministry Deepak Sharma.
The ministry has decided to close the schools based on the recommendation of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC).
Meanwhile, the ministry has requested the parents to send their children for vaccination on the specified day by contacting the school as there is a program to vaccinate students in the age group of 12 to 17 years through health posts at all local levels.
It has also been requested all concerned to make necessary arrangement for continuing the learning activities of the students as per the provisions of the Learning Facilitation Directive-2077 BS during the leave period.
The ministry has suggested that universities and educational institutes to conduct pre-scheduled semester and annual examination programs in full compliance with public health and safety standards.
