Dharan, Dec 31: Teaching and learning activities in schools across Sunsari district have been disrupted due to the recent cold wave.
All local levels in the district have announced the closure of both community and institutional schools for three days, from Wednesday to Friday, as a precautionary measure.
Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City stated that the closure has been adjusted under the winter vacation schedule. Chief of the Education Section, Ramesh Kumar Sah, said schools were given a three-day holiday to protect children from the adverse health effects of the cold.
Schools in Inaruwa, Koshi Rural Municipality, Harinagar, Ramdhuni, and Duhabi, among other areas, have also been closed. In these local levels, the closures will be managed by adjusting other annual holidays.
Local authorities have urged parents and guardians to keep their children indoors and adopt necessary precautions to protect them from the cold wave. #nepal #terai #cold
