Kathmandu: The CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said seat allocation among the coalition parties in the incumbent government would be concluded in two or three day. There was a final touch on the matter, said the former Prime Minister while briefly talking to media-persons in Janakpurdham. He arrived here to attend an event.
“A taskforce formed to carry out a study on seat allocation is doing its job. It will submit the report today or tomorrow.
Following this, seat allocation will conclude acting on the report,” he said.
There had been an agreement in principle that the same political party would get a seat for the same constituency it won in the erstwhile election, he said. “The task of allocating remaining seats remains. We want to join forces for election preparations after concluding seat allocation as soon as possible.”
In another context, Prachanda claimed that his party would win more seats in Madhes Province in the November 20 parliamentary and provincial elections as compared to the previous polls.
On the Citizenship Bill, he expressed the hope that President would authenticate the Bill that was re-endorsed by the House of Representatives and the National Assembly. “According to the constitution, President can return a bill only for once. So the Bill re-endorsed by both the houses will be certificated by President. We are rest-assured.”
Meanwhile, a meeting of Maoist Center central members from Madhes Province has kicked off in Janakpurdham today. The venue for the gathering is Hotel Royal Palace. Party chair Prachanda, senior vice chair Narayan Kaji Shrestha (Prakash) and other leaders Matrika Prasad Yadav and Giriraj Mani Pokharel are scheduled to address the meeting, according to the party Madhes in-charge Ganesh Shah.
