Seven Summit Treks’ fixing team summits Lhotse



Kathmandu, May 7: Mount Lhotse, the world’s fourth highest peak (8,516m), is now open for expeditions for this season.

A team of seven Sherpas climbed the mountain on Monday, opening a route to the summit.

The fixing team from Seven Summit Treks (SST), a leading expedition operator based in Kathmandu, reached the top of the mountain at 21:30 pm (Nepal time) on Monday, said SST General Manager Thaneswar Guragai.

The team successfully fixed ropes to the top of the peak under Expedition Operators’ Association Nepal (EOA-Nepal), he added.

“With this summit bid starts, our team is all well at the Base Camp, and is eager to push for the summit now.”

The SST Lhotse fixing team comprised:

1. Dendi Sherpa (Nepal)
2. Tenjing Gyalje Sherpa (Nepal)
3. Namgel Dorjee Tamang (Nepal)
4. Pemba Tashi Sherpa (Nepal)
5. Dawa Sherpa (Nepal)
6. Tashi Sherpa (Nepal)
7. Pam Dorjee Sherpa (Nepal)
