Kathmandu, April 27: Nepali Congress senior leader Dr Shekhar Koirala has appealed to stop paying ex-maoist combatants instead provide them jobs.

The Prachanda-led government has recently decided to distribute money for the unqualified ex-combatants as a reparation support.

Leader Koirala has raised question on supporting ex-combatants as the country’s economy was in a severe stress. Writing a status on Facebook on Thursday, Dr Koirala has said, “It is unacceptable for the government to allocate money in the name of former ineligible fighters in a situation where it is not able to account for the money taken for the fighters in the cantonment in the past, is reluctant to solve the conflict problem and cannot even pay the salaries of government employees and former teachers due to lack of money in the treasury. Let’s oppose, stop such action of Maoist led government and be aware for future.

He has requested to provided them jobs not money.
