Sher Bahadur Deuba, Dr Arzu leave for Singapore for treatment

Kathmandu, Oct 28: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, left for Singapore last night for medical treatment. The couple departed on an 11 p.m. flight on Monday.

On September 9, during the Gen-Z movement protest, both Deuba and Dr Arzu were physically attacked at their Budhanilkantha residence. Protesters had also vandalized and set fire to their house.

President Deuba sustained injuries to his neck and head, while Dr. Rana was manhandled by demonstrators, claiming that they were the most corrupt family in the country.

The Nepal Army had rescued the couple and facilitated their initial treatment at the Army Hospital following the incident.

On October 14, Deuba attended a Central Committee meeting at the party’s headquarters in Sanepa, where he designated Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka as Acting President during his absence. #nepal #Deuba #GenZ
