Sherpa team complete rope fixing up to South Col



Kathmandu, April 29: A team of 11 Sherpas from Seven Summit Treks (SST), a leading trekking and expedition company based in Kathmandu, completed fixing the rope lines at South Col (Camp IV 7950m), said SST.

Accordingly, the route to Camp IV of Mt. Everest and Lhotse has been opened for all climbers for rotation and acclimatisation hikes this season.

More than 390 permits for Everest and over 130 permits for Lhotse have been issued to date, according to available data with the authority of Nepal.

Earlier this spring season, Seven Summit Treks successfully opened the summit routes on Makalu and Annapurna I.

SST had been entrusted with the task of rope fixing on the mountains by the Expeditions Operators’ Association Nepal (EOA-Nepal).

Rope fixing team on Everest and Lhotse include Mingma Dendi Sherpa, Tenjing Gyalje Sherpa, Namgel Dorjee Tamang, Pemba Tashi Sherpa, Gelje Sherpa, Dawa Sherpa, Phurba Chhotar Sherpa, Suku Bahadur Tamang, Lakpa Rinjin Sherpa, Tashi Sherpa and Pam Dorjee Sherpa. #nepal
