Kathmandu, Feb 7: Thailand has clinched the title of Women’s T20 International Tri-Series defeating Nepal by seven wickets in the final match held today at Kirtipur-based Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground.
Out of six matches, Thailand remained at the top position with 10 points by winning five matches. Similarly, the Netherlands stood in the second position with eight points by winning four matches. However, Nepal remained point-less in the series. It lost all six matches.
In the final match, Nepal posted the 82-run victory target before Thailand. Winning the toss, Captain of Nepali team, Indu Barma, decided to bat first. Nepal made 81 runs at the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
For Nepal, Samjhana Khadka scored 17 runs while Kabita Joshi 14 runs, Rajmati Airee 11 runs (not out) and Captain Barma 10 runs. Towards bowling, Onnicha Kamchomphu took three wickets while Chanida Sutthiruang, Nattaya Boochatham and Suleeporn Laomi took one wicket each.
Thailand chased the target of 82 runs on 17 overs losing three wickets. Captain Naruemol Chaiwai collected 27 runs (not out), Nannapat Koncharoenkai 23 runs and Nattaya Boochatham 11 runs. Nepal’s Captain Barma took two wickets while Puja Mahato one wicket.#nepal #sport #rss
