Pokhara, Oct 22 : The ‘Martyr Thaman Pariyar Memorial Sports Ground’ has been developed in Pokhara Metropolitan City (PMC)-28, Majhthana.
The sports ground was developed in commemoration of martyr Thaman Pariyar at the cost of Rs 650,000. It may be noted that the cost was raised by Pokhara Metropolis and through mobilization of people’s kind labour.
Manmohan Adhikari, chairperson of Majhthana Dhungethan Sports Ground Users’ Committee, shared the PMC’s social development section has covered Rs 300,000, ward-28 covered Rs 200,000 and Rs 150,000 through mobilization of people’s kind labour.
He further said the sports ground was developed in over five ropanis public land at the birthplace of martyr Thaman Pariyar who obtained martyrdom in course of the movement towards attaining Federal Democratic Republic in 2006 AD.
The ground was developed to commemorate martyrs through the means of sports, he siad, adding other physical infrastructure including parapet will be gradually developed.
Lalmohan Tiwari, chairperson of Thaman Pariyar Memorial Foundation, informed that inter-ward volleyball tournament will be carried out in the newly-developed sports ground on the occasion of Deepawali from October 23-25.
