Kathmandu, March 27: A demonstration has been held against the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah. A protest was held from New Baneshwar to Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on Monday against Mayor Shah for trying to remove squatters without proper management plan which they term as against the constitution and law.
Kumar Karki, President of the United National Squatters Front, Nepal, said that the demonstration started after Balen Shah forced them to leave their place of residence. He also warned to stage stronger protest if KMC failed to address squatter’s demand.
They have also demanded the release of the land activists arrested during the protest and the dismissal of all the false cases against them.
