Kathmandu, Aug 12: Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolis Balendra Shah said that there is a deep interest in technical subjects among public school students. He said that the orientation given to the principals and science teachers of public schools on robotics, artificial intelligence, drone technology and coding showed enthusiasm towards learning the subject in schools, teachers and students.
He wrote on social media today, “Orientation was given in 4 types of technology (robotics, artificial intelligence, drone technology and coding) in Bhanu secondary school. Similarly, in Padmodaya Secondary School, an experimental introduction to drone technology was conducted for science teachers and class 8 students.”
The first trimester exam is going on. Considering on student’s interest, we will run classes on new technologies including book free Friday initiative, he said.
This era is a time of science and technology. Every person’s lifestyle is connected with technology. At present, if we do not accustom students to such knowledge and skills at school age, they cannot be competitive. To save them from this risk, we will be trying to connect students theory and technology.
The Metropolitan Municipality has continued the program of Book Free Friday.
