Kathmandu, Feb 11: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has stated that it is coordinating with relevant agencies and implementing regulatory measures to ensure the smooth supply of cooking gas across the country.
The move comes after consumers faced shortages of cooking gas in recent days. The Department has urged the Nepal Oil Corporation to make the supply of this essential commodity more effective and uninterrupted.
Similarly, gas-dealing companies have been instructed to take necessary steps to ease the supply situation. The Department conducted monitoring inspections of gas bottling industries in the Kathmandu Valley and directed them to maintain production and distribution in line with consumer demand.
The regulatory body has also instructed dealers, retailers, and LP gas supply companies not to hoard cooking gas and to continue production and distribution at full industrial capacity.
Consumers have likewise been urged not to engage in panic buying or hoarding of cooking gas. #nepal #gas
