Supreme Court appoints Kunwar as the Chief Registrar and Poudel as Registrar

KATHMANDU: Lal Bahadur Kunwar has been appointed as the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court. A meeting of the Judicial Council had decided to appoint Kunwar as Chief Registrar. The Chief Registrar post was vacant after Chief Registrar Nripadhwaj Niraula was appointed to the Justice in the Appelate Court.

Earlier, Kunwar was the registrar of the Supreme Court. After the meeting of the Judicial Service Commission on February 7 recommended the appointment of Kunwar, the cabinet meeting held on February 11 decided to appoint Kunwar as the Chief Registrar. Kunwar of Gulmi Dhurkot had entered the civil service in 2055 BS as a section officer.

Similarly, Nirmala Poudel has been appointed as the registrar of the Supreme Court. The cabinet meeting held on February 11 has appointed Poudel as the registrar of the Supreme Court.

Poudel is the first woman to reach the registrar of the Supreme Court. Earlier, Poudel was the registrar of the administrative court. Poudel had entered the civil service as a section officer in 2052 BS.
