Chautara: The major trading point Tatopani between Nepal and China has been formally reopened from Wednesday.
The Chinese side had closed the transit point on October 6 stating that some Nepali employees had contracted Covid-19. Earlier, the border point was opened on October 5 after it was closed for three months due to floods and landslides.
Chief of the Tatopani Customs Office, Lal Bahadur Khatri, said that the cargo containers would enter Nepal only on Thursday if the health standards were met as per the agreement between the two countries.
It has been stated that Nepali workers will not have to cross the border as the goods entering Nepal will be brought to the customs area by the Chinese side from now on.
According to the Tatopani Customs Office, the containers will be sent to the capital only after being kept in the isolation yard of the customs for 12 to 14 hours.
