Three died of burn injuries in Arghakhanchi fire

Arghakhanchi, May 10: Three people died of serious burns while fighting to extinguish fire in Bhumikasthan Municipality of Arghakhanchi district on Tuesday evening.

A 72-year-old Pitambar Belwase, 55-year-old Padam Belbase and 52-year-old Ghanashyam Belbase of Bhumikasthan-2 Tirtire village who were injured in the fire died. While taking Pitambar for treatment died in Rampur of Palpa while Padam died near Narayanghat in Chitwan while being taken to the hospital. Similarly, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mukunda Rijal informed that Ghanshyam died at Kirtipur Burn Hospital in Kathmandu.

On Tuesday afternoon, five people were injured while extinguishing the fire at Padam Belbase’s house in Bhumikasthan-2 Tirtire Kholagaon. 26-year-old Ashmita Belbase and 36-year-old Madhav Belbase were also injured in the fire. Police said that Madhav’s condition is critical. After initial treatment at District Hospital Sandhikharka, it was recommended to take the injured to Mission Hospital Palpa for further treatment. It was recommended to take him to Kathmandu as he could not be treated there.

Meanwhile, a fire broke out in a Muslim settlement in Sandhikharka Municipality-4, Wangla, and eight houses were destroyed. Four buffaloes were also burnt to death in the fire. According to the District Police Office, more than 800 chickens were burnt due to fire in the chicken farm.

The houses of Khaire Mian, Razim Mian, Kala Mian, Samshu Mian, Jamaluddin Mian, Safi Mian and Samsher Mian of Muslim settlements were destroyed by the fire. Nepal Police, Armed Police and local residents extinguished the fire.
