Three more COVID-19 related deaths, tally jumps to 120 in Banke

NEPALGUNJ: Three additional coronavirus infected patients who were admitted to the hospitals in Nepalgunj lost their lives today.

According to Resource Person of the District COVID Crisis Management Center, Tej Oli, the infected who died while undergoing treatment are 45-year-old man of Nepalgunj sub-metropolis-1, 58-year-old woman of ward 4 and 46-year-old man of Tulsipur sub-metropolis-6.

With this the death toll from COVID-19 has reached 120 in Banke while number of mortality of infected coming here from other districts is reported to be 118.

Earlier, Six people died from the coronavirus in Banke in the last 24 hours. The dead are from Banke itself (three), Dang (two) and Kapilvastu (one).

The District Covid-19 Crisis Management Center said a 45-year-old male from the Tulasipur Sub-metropolis-17 in Dang died in the Medical College Kohalpur. He was admitted to the hospital on April 29 and his swab sample was collected in the evening of April 30. He breathed his last as the hospital was waiting his test report. The report has come positive.

Similarly, 47-year-old woman from Nepalgunj Sub Metropolis-6 died at 9:30 pm at the Medical College Kohalpur. She was hospitalised on April 28 and diagnosed with Covid-19 following day. The third deceased is a 51-year-old male from Krishnanagar Municipality-5 in Kapilvastu who was admitted to the Medical College on April 28. His PCR test was conducted the following day and he died at 10:00 pm Friday.

A 35-year-old male of Kohalpur Municipality-11 who was hospitalised on April 23 died late Friday midnight at the Medical College Kohalpur.

The fifth deceased is a 55-year-old woman of Nepalgunj-10 who breathed her last at the Bheri Hospital at 4:00 am today. She underwent the PCR test on April 26 and was admitted to the hospital following day.

Likewise, a 60-year-old male from Dagisharan Rural Municipality-1, Dang who was admitted to the Medical College Kohalpur on April 21 died at 4:00 am today. With this, the number of people dying from coronavirus in Banke has reached 118.

One dies from Covid-19 in Dhulikhel Hospital

BANEPA: A Covid-19 patient died this morning amidst the treatment at the Dhulikhel Hospital. A 37-year-old male from Kubinde of Sindhupalchowk was admitted to the hospital last Friday after he complained of health complications.

He, a heart patient, was confirmed to have been infected with the virus through the PCR test same day, Hospital emergency ward chief Dr Sanu Shrestha said. During the further medical tests, he was diagnosed with pneumonia as well and was treated keeping at the emergency ward due to the shortage of ICU bed, it is said.—

Four Covid-19 infected people die in Kanchanpur, Taplejung

TAPLEJUNG: Four Covid-19 infected people have died in Kanchanpur and Taplejung districts on Friday night. Of them, two aged 52 and 48 from Bhimdatta Municipality-18 and 14 in Kanchanpur district died at Mahakali Hospital and one aged 68 from the municipality-18 in home-isolation, said the police.

Likewise, 33 people entering Nepal from neighbouring India through Gaddachauki and Gauriphanta transits have been found infected with the virus. The infection cases were from 284 antigen tests for the virus on Friday.

Similarly, a Covid-19 infected woman died in Taplejung district. The deceased has been identified as Bhakti Maya Tumbahamphe of Phungling Municipality-5.

Tumbahamphe was admitted to Birtacity Hospital for heart problems. She was tested positive for the infection on Thursday during treatment. The hospital on Friday discharged her asking her family to put her at home quarantine facility, said Chief District Officer Umesh Pandey.

Two Covid-19 infected women die in Kailali

DHANGADHI: Two Covid-19 infected women have died in the past 24 hours. Of the deceased, a 59-year-old infected woman of Janaki Rural Municipality-3 died at Tikapur Hospital, according to the hospital management.

Likewise, another infected woman, 50, of Lamkichuha Municipality-5 died at Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi, said liaison officer at the district administration office, Kailali, Shiva Raj Joshi.

Mother and son die two days apart from coronavirus

BIRATNAGAR: A mother and son have died in Sunsari two days apart due to coronavirus infection. The son died two days after the death of his mother in Inaruwa, Sunsari.

The mother died at home isolation on Wednesday. Her son died at Koshi Hospital on Saturday afternoon.

The 65-year-old son was admitted to Birat Medical College on the same day as his 84-year-old mother died. He was admitted to Koshi Hospital for further treatment.

Four more deaths in Karnali State

SURKHET: Four more people have died in Karnali state due to coronavirus infection.

In the last 24 hours, two people from Surkhet and two from Salyan have died while undergoing treatment, said Nod Narayan Chaudhary, information officer at the state health directorate.
