Kathmandu, March 19: Nepal Police has arrested three Nepali nationals from Tribhuvan International Airport with USD 28,900 in cash.
The arrested individuals have been identified as 45-year-old Anita Lama of Nagarjun Municipality–1, Kathmandu; 38-year-old Sangita Lama of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality–6, Sindhupalchok; and 47-year-old Binod Lama of Lisankhu Pakhar Rural Municipality–7, Sindhupalchok.
According to spokesperson of the Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office, Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Silwal, the trio was apprehended during a body search and baggage screening at the international departure area while attempting to fly from Kathmandu to Guangzhou, China on a China Southern Airlines flight (CZ 6068).
Police said USD 10,000 was recovered from Anita, USD 10,000 from Sangita, and USD 8,900 from Binod.
The arrested individuals have been handed over to the Department of Revenue Investigation, Lalitpur for further investigation and legal action. #nepal #TIA
