There will be competition between Rudra Bahadur Shahi of Dailekh and Dhruv Kumar Shahi of Surkhet for the post of secretary.

Dandi Prasad Sharma of Surkhet, who had previously nominated for secretary, withdrew his candidacy supporting Rudra Bahadur Shahi as secretary.

The UML, which tried to decide the leadership of the province through consensus, has finally decided the leadership through the election process.

Inaugurating the state convention, CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli gave instructions to choose the leadership on the basis of consensus. But due to disagreements between the leaders, the CPN-UML Karnali Province Chairman Binod Shah informed that the leadership had to be selected through the election.

Voting will be today itself. UML will elect 135 members including five office-bearers.
