Tourist arrival up in Gandaki state

Pokhara, Oct 15 : The Gandaki state welcomed over eighteen thousand external tourists in September this year which is 15.7 per cent more than the previous month.

In August, 2,489 external tourists visited the state.

According to information made available by the Nepal Tourism Board, of 18,351 tourists visiting the state, 7,000 were Indians and remaining 11,143 were from other countries.

The data was recorded by the Pokhara Airport Office, the Abukhaireni Police Beat in Tanahu and the Syangja police.

While analysing trend of tourist arrival of past two months, the number of tourists entering the state via the Prithvi Highway is around 60 per cent and Indians make up the highest portion or 39 per cent of the total.
