Ilam, Oct 9: The Mechi Highway, obstructed for five days after the landslides, opened for traffic from Tuesday evening.
Vehicular movement resumed along the highway after the reconstruction of the road section near Maikhola in Ilam Municipality-9 in Ilam district.
Chief of Ilam Police Prabhu Prasad Dhakal said small vehicles and two-wheelers have moved to their destination after the clearance of the obstructions.
Dhakal said that large vehicles and loaded trucks would be allowed to ply on the road section by considering the situation of the road on Wednesday afternoon.
With the resumption of the traffic, dozens of vehicles stranded halfway have moved to their destinations.
Dhakal further shared that the obstructions along the Ilam-Rajduwali section are also cleared. #mechi #highway #nepal
