Trishuli III ‘A’ to be inaugurated on Monday

Kathmandu : The inauguration of the Upper Trishuli III’A’ hydropower project has been scheduled for tomorrow.

The project developed by Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) took one decade to get completed. Though regular power production from the project had begun some eight months ago, the inaugural ceremony is taking place Monday, the NEA said.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Barshaman Pun, will jointly inaugurate it. The Prime Minister will do it from the ‘action room’ based in the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers while Minister Pun will be present physically at Simle, the project site at Kispang rural municipality-5.

According to NEA, the project of 60 megawatt capacity got completed following tremendous efforts.  Once, the NEA had faced criticism for protecting the ‘sick’ project and its inability to complete it in time.
