‘Tulkee’ will be screened from May 26, ticket booking open



Kathmandu, May 25:  The ticket booking for the movie ‘Tulkee‘ based on polyandry (Bahupati) has been opened from today.

The Palm Group Pvt Ltd, which produced the movie, held a press conference here in Kathmandu on Wednesday and informed that the movie “Tulkee” will be screened across the country from Friday.

Speaking at the press conference, the producer of the film, Shekhar Lama, informed that the polyandry system (Bahupati) that has been prevalent in the Himalayan region of Nepal has been shown through the film. “In the movie Tulkee, the polyandry system in the Himalayan districts of Dolpa, Humla, Mugu and others is shown,” he said.

Producer Lama said that the movie was shot in remote villages like She-Foksundo, Tripurakot, Ralli, Karelikanda and others in Dolpa district.

In the press conference, film director Devjung Thapa said that the story of a girl who grew up in a different community in the lower area of Dolpa goes to the upper area after getting married and after going there, she had to go through the story in the name of custom.

The movie is directed by Devjung Thapa and cinematography by Sushil Adhikari and Navraj Ghimire. RP Karmacharya and Ujeli Lama are in the role of producers in the movie produced by Shekhar Lama. The story of the movie is written by Laxman Sunar, editing by Tara Thapa, background music by Sanjeev Subba, choreography by Ligesh Bhattarai and Ramesh Budhathoki.

Shishir Wangdel, Swastima Karki, Sophia Limbu, Narendra Tamang, Som Lama, Shekhar Lama, Saujan Subba, Bhaktasinh Kathayat, Ratnaprasad Neupane and others are acting in the movie.
