Twelve injured in jeep mishap



Karnali, July 28: Twelve passengers have been injured when a jeep they were travelling in met with an accident at Halkandara on the border between Lekbensi Municipality’s Ward No. 5 and 6in Surkeht district.

Thakur Prasad Pokharel, Superintendent of Police and Chief of the District Police Office, Surkhet, said that the passengers were injured when the passenger-carrying Mustang jeep (Bhe 1 Kha 540), traveling from Halkandara Dandagaun to Dasharathpur, overturned on the road at 10 am today on an uphill section of the road.

According to police, among the injured, the condition of four individuals from Lekbesi Municipality-6, Surkhet—Sushma Karki (22), Amrita Karki (70), Tilsara Siris (26), and Khagisara BK (70)—is critical.

Superintendent of Police Pokharel said that all four passengers, who have sustained injuries to their chests, backs, and internal organs, have been sent to Maya Nursing Home in Surkhet for treatment.

It is reported that some of the other injured are undergoing treatment at the same nursing home, while those with minor injuries are being treated at the local medical centre in Dasharathpur. #nepal #rss
