Kathmandu, Jan 24: Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first in their second match of Group D under the ICC Under-19 (U-19) One-Day Cricket World Cup.
Dev Khanal, the captain of the Nepali team, has won the toss and decided to bat first in the match against Pakistan at the Buffalo Park Cricket Ground in East London, South Africa.
Nepal is looking for its first victory in the tournament. Nepal was defeated by New Zealand by 64 runs in the first match. Similarly, Pakistan is in the stake to get the second victory in the tournament. Pakistan won the first match against Afghanistan by a wide margin of 181 runs.
New Zealand, Pakistan and Afghanistan are in Group D with Nepal. The top three teams in the group will decide the journey to the Super-6.
The Nepali U-19 team consists of captain Dev Khanal, Arjun Kumal, Akash Tripathi, Deepak Prasad Dumre, Durgesh Gupta, Gulsan Jha, Deepesh Prasad Kandel, Bishal Bikram KC, and Subas Bhandari, Deepak Bohora, Uttam Thapa Magar, Bipin Rawal, Tilakraj Bhandari and Akash Chand.
In the first inning, Nepal has managed to score 80 runs with loss of 3 wickets in 17 overs. Nepali batsmen Arjun Kumal (6), Akash Tripathi (6) and captain Dev Khanal (23) have returned pavilion.
Bipin Rawal and Uttam Magar are in the crease.
