U-19 Women Cricket: Nepal’s World Cup dream is over

KATHMANDU: Nepal has lost to Thailand in the ICC Women’s Under-19 (U-19) T20 World Cup Asia qualifiers.

Nepal lost to Thailand by 49 runs on Tuesday at the UKM Oval in Malaysia.

With the defeat, the possibility of Nepal being selected in the World Cup is over. Now Nepal will play against Malaysia in the final match on Thursday.

The top team in the selection will make it to the World Cup to be held in South Africa.

Following the target of 90 runs set by Thailand, Nepal was all out in 19 overs and managed to score only 40 runs.

This is the second defeat of Nepal in group. Nepal is in the third position with 4 points added in 4 games.

With the fourth consecutive victory, Thailand is at the top with 8 points in 4 games.
