UAE set Nepal a target of 182 runs to win



Kathmandu, July 2: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has given a target of 182 runs to Nepal in the seventh place playoff match of the ongoing ICC One Day World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe.

After losing the toss and batting first at Takashinga Sports Club in Harare, Zimbabwe, UAE lost all wickets in 46.5 overs and made a total of 181 runs. Vriitya Aravind (c) contributed the most for UAE with 44 runs. He faced 75 balls.

Similarly, Rohan Mustafa scored 35 runs and Aryansh Sharma added 28 runs. Basil Hameed scored 29 runs while Sanchit Sharma scored 12 runs and Rameez Shahzad scored 10 runs.

On the bowling side, Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC took 3/3 wickets each while Pratis GC, Gulsan Jha and Dipendra Singh Airi took 1/1 wicket each.

The winner of this match will compete against Ireland on Tuesday for the seventh place, while the defeated team will play against the United States for the ninth place.

Meanwhile, Nepal has started batting second. According to the lastest report, Nepal has scored 26 runs in 7 overs with the loss of 1 wicket. Nepal’s opening batsman Arjun Saud was dismissed in 1 run. Now, Kushal Bhurtel (15 runs) and Gyanendra Malla (10) are in crease.
