KATHMANDU: Members of the task force of the government and the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) have briefed the top leaders on the homework done so far.
The JSP Chairman Mahantha Thakur and senior leader Rajendra Mahato along with members of the task force reached the PM’s residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday morning.
“The task force has been briefed on the homework done on the issue,” said Mahato. “Progress is positive.”
The CPN (UML) Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has been trying to get JSP’s support in the government. However, there are two sides to the issue.
Chairman Thakur is in constant touch with Prime Minister Oli and has appointed leaders Laxman Lal Karna and Sarvendra Nath Shukla to hold talks with the government without even informing the party.
But the presidents of the Sanghiya Parishad including Dr Baburam Bhattarai and Chairman Upendra Yadav are in favor of a coalition government other than the UML.
