Kathmandu: The Election Commission has decided that voters whose names are included in the final voter list for the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections to be held on November 20 will be allowed to vote on the basis of the voter ID card issued by the Commission as well as other official documents that reveal their identity.

The commission has decided to direct the concerned election officer to make arrangements for voting by verifying the details of the final voter list based on the identity card as well as the certificate of Nepali citizenship or national identity card or passport or land ownership certificate or driver’s license.

According to Surya Prasad Aryal, Assistant Spokesperson of the Commission, although the Commission has distributed identity cards to voters in the context of the election, if some voters’ identity cards are lost or destroyed, arrangements have been made to allow them to vote on the basis of the mentioned identity cards.
