‘We will not allow Nepali land to be used against neighboring countries’

KATHMANDU: The government of Nepal has stated that Nepal is committed to preventing its territory from being used against any of its allies, including neighboring India and China.

The government has extended thanks to all those who supported the ratification of the US grant assistance MCC Compact from the parliament.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held today thanked all for creating environment conducive to the MCC ratification from the House of Representatives (HoR) of the federal parliament.

The cabinet meeting has thanked all the parties represented in the government, coalition partners, main opposition party and all other political parties, the Speaker and MPs, informed Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Karki.

Furthermore, thanks go to all Nepali sisters and brothers, civil society, the media, intellectuals and industrialists for their support and goodwill in this process.

The cabinet meeting also stated that the government was committed not to allow Nepali soil to be used against neigbhouring countries India and China and others as per the spirit of Nepal’s foreign policy.

Similarly, the meeting has extended gratitude to neighbouring countries, development partners, regional and international agencies for their vital support in Nepal’s social and economic development.

Recently, China has called the MCC agreement with the United States a “Pandora’s box.”
