West Indies A wins series, Nepal defeated by 28 runs



Kathmandu, May 2:  The visiting West Indies A have won the five-match T20I series against Nepal before playing the last match.

After Nepal was defeated by 28 runs in the fourth match on Thursday, West Indies A won the series with a lead of 3-1.

Chasing a huge target of 210 runs for victory, Nepal scored a total of 181 runs after losing all wickets in 20 overs. Captain Rohit Paudel scored the most runs for Nepal. Rohit scored 82 runs off 47 balls by hitting 7 fours and 5 sixes. Apart from Rohit, none of the other batsmen could play well.

Opener Aasif Sheikh was bowled out for 0 runs in the second ball of the innings. Similarly, another opener Kushal Bhurtel got out after scoring 1 run facing five ball. Kushal Malla, who came at number four, also hit a four and returned to the pavilion.

Sandeep Jora, who came at number five, got out after scoring 19 runs off 14 balls. Similarly, Dipendra Singh Airee scored 19 runs in 14 balls while Gulshan Jha scored 19 runs and Sompal Kami 10 runs.

Matthew Forde and Hayden Walsh took 3 wickets each for West Indies ‘A’. Fabian Allen and Gudakesh Motie took 2 wickets each.

Before that, West Indies A, who won the toss and started batting, scored 209 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs.

Andre Fletcher contributed individual 84 runs. He was unbeaten on 84 runs playing 54 balls and hit 9 fours and 4 sixes. Similarly, Johnson Charles added 58 runs in 30 balls. Fabian Allen remained unbeaten with 33 runs off 19 balls.

On the bowling side, Kushal Bhurtel of Nepal took 2 wickets. Similarly, Pratish GC took 1 wicket spending 43 runs in 4 overs.

Nepal won the first match on Saturday by 4 wickets. In the second match, West Indies ‘A’ won by 10 runs, while in the third match, the visiting team won by 76 runs.

The last match of the series will be played on Saturday.
