KATHMANDU: Director General of World Health Organization (WHO) Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has arrived in Nepal this afternoon.
Director General Tedros arrived here on the three-day goodwill visit, according to Secretary at Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Roshan Pokhrel.
During his stay, Tedros is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairperson of National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada and Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka.
He will also observe the vaccination campaign against typhoid, inspect the National Public Health Laboratory, and visit Patan Secondary School, Hanumandhoka Durbar Square and Patan Durbar.
Director General Tedros is accompanied by Regional Director of South East Asia Office of WHO, Dr Poonam Chhetrapal and other officials of WHO.
He is scheduled to wrap up Nepal visit on April 23.
