Kathmandu, Feb 11: Lawmakers have stressed for the construction of wildlife-friendly infrastructures.
At a meeting of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee of the National Assembly today, the lawmakers called for developing the wildlife-friendly infrastructures while discussing the issues relating to the National Parks.
Committee chair Maya Prasad Sharma said only need-based infrastructures should be developed inside the national parks. “Infrastructures construction in the name of development in a way to destroy the conservation sites should not be implemented.
Development is today’s needs but it should be advanced by balancing with the environment,” Sharma added.
Committee member Madan Kumari Shah said the government should be directed to implement polices relating to the wildlife-friendly infrastructures.
Likewise, lawmaker Renu Chand said underpass and overpass should be constructed inside the national parks to facilitate the mobility of wildlife.#nepal #rss
