Women reportedly missing inside Shuklaphanta National Park contact families



Mahendranagar, July 20: Groups of women who were reportedly missing after entering the Shuklaphanta National Park (SNP) in Kanchanpur to collect mushroom have been found safe.

Following the reports 14 women from Bagphanta of Bheemdutta municipality-19 had gone missing inside the park area since Sunday evening, the Nepali Army (NA) Shuklaphanta unit had launched a search operation, it is said.

According to Prakash Ghimire, Battalion Chief of Ranasingh Battalion deployed for the park security, the women have reportedly come into contact with their families.

“We mobilized all available mechanisms for a comprehensive search operation and received reports a short while ago that they had come into contact with their families.

All of them are said to be safe,” he said. Earlier, a group of three women from Beldadi rural municipality-2 who had reportedly gone missing inside the park since Sunday evening, were rescued by security team led by captain Suman GC.

The group had also been inside the park without official permission to harvest wild mushroom.

The NA, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, city police and CNP administration were involved in the search operation, it is said. #nepal #rss
