Kathmandu, Oct 30: Nepal has defeated Scotland by five wickets in the ICC Men’s World Cup Qualifier League 2 game.
In the match held at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, USA, Scotland batted first after losing the toss and were all out for 154 runs in 41.4 overs.
For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane took three wickets, while Karan KC, Sompal Kami, and Gulshan Jha each took two wickets, and Arif Sheikh claimed one. For Scotland, Mark Watt scored 34 runs, but other batters could not make a notable contribution.
Nepal successfully chased down the target in 29.5 overs. Arif Sheikh led Nepal’s innings with 51 runs, while Kushal Bhurtel and Gulshan Jha scored 25 runs each, and Aasif Sheikh added 21 runs.
For Scotland, Brandon McMullen took two wickets, while Brad Currie, Mark Watt, and Jack Jarvis took one wicket each.
In the League 2 tri-series, Nepal had previously lost to the USA by three wickets in the first match. Similarly, Scotland had defeated the USA by 10 wickets in their first match.
