Yoga and meditation helpful for good governance: Home Minister Shrestha



Kathmandu, Jan 6: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha has said that regular practice of yoga and meditation would provide significant support to make the campaign of good governance successful.

Inaugurating a daylong workshop on ‘Energy awakening through meditation’ organised at the National Police Training Academy in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs here this morning, he said that yoga and meditation plays an important role in leading the society towards a positive path and promoting humanity around the world.

Daily yoga practice and meditation can help a person live a stress-free life with peace, motivation and positive energy, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha said, “Through meditation, a person reaches a state of full consciousness, thereby increasing the functionality of a person.”

Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha expressed his belief that the use of yoga and meditation will help security personnel and agencies to perform their duties better, and help fulfill the responsibilities assigned to them by the state.

He also shared that the Ministry of Home Affairs has made a formal decision to create an environment to work with positive energy by meditating for 15 minutes at the beginning of work day.

Additional Inspector General of Police and Executive Director of the Academy Sandeep Bhandari, said that yoga and meditation training is being included in basic and in-service training of Nepal Police.

More than 200 senior police officers, employees Ministry of Home Affairs and other trainees are participating in the meditation science program run by Jeevan Bigyan trainers. #Nepal
