Young Bimarsh translates Maithili poetry ‘Nahi Sita Nahi’ into English



Kathmandu, June 8: The collection of Maithili poetry “Nahi Sita Nahi” or “Cry No More Sita” written by Vibha Bimarsh was translated into English by her 17 year old son, Bimarsh. The newly translated book was launched on Friday amidst a program in Kathmandu.

The day also marked Bimarsh’s eighteenth birthday.

The event, organised by the Vimarsh Foundation, was graced by numerous dignitaries including Member of parliament Kisan Shrestha, Member of parliament Manish Jha, DIG to the APF Deependra Shah and more.

Respected literary laureates such as Dr. Ramavtar Yadav, Surendra Labh, Dhirendra Premarshi, Dharmendra Jha, Ramesh Ranjan, Bishnu Rai, Dinesh Yadav, Rupa Jha were also the part of this milestone event.

Apart from the launch, the event hosted an in depth one to one session between by Bikash Vatsnabh and Bimarsh, which shed light upon the vast potential, inherent requirement and layered process of translation.

The event marked a significant start for the development of a global outlook for the language and culture. It showcased the immense potential and requirement of such works to promote, preserve and establish the significance of local creations. #nepal
