1,158 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in 24 hours

KATHMANDU: The country has recorded a total of 1,158 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths in the past 24 hours. The infection figures were revealed from 14,003 sample tests, according to the Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday.

Presently, the number of active infection cases stands at 18,422. The infection rate is 18.9 per cent, the Ministry said.

Until now, the number of recovery cases is 763,734 with 1,318 in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate is 96.3 percent.

The Ministry said that nine districts have more than 500 active cases each while 20 districts have more than 200 active cases.

The death toll from the virus has reached 11,115 with 12 deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry said.

Of the infected ones, 364 have been admitted to intensive care units (ICU) while 120 are on ventilator support. Similarly, 17,125 are in home-isolation, 1,297 in institution-isolation and 328 at quarantine facilities.

On Tuesday, 208,090 people were vaccinated against the infection. Until today, 6,205,770 have been administered COVID-19 vaccines while 6,960,828 have received the first dose.
