KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Reconstruction of different 27 heritages in the premises of Hanumandhoka Durbar Square, which is enlisted as world heritage site, has been accomplished.
According to the Hanumandhoka Palace Security Post, 11 out of 58 heritages ravaged by the 2015 earthquake are being reconstructed.
Office Chief of the Post Sandeep Khanal said that 12 among 70 heritages built in the world heritage site remained unaffected by the quake.
Restructuring of 20 heritages has not yet started as it is not possible to initiate the work without completing ongoing reconstruction, he shared.
The nine-storied building of Hanumandhoka Durbar Square is being restructured with the grant assistance of the Chinese government. Almost 60 percent of its restructuring has so far completed.
Likewise, the Gaddi Baithak has been restructured with the assistance of the United States. Rebuilding of Jagannath and Gopinath Temples is going on under the Bagmati Province Infrastructure Development Programme.
The building between Rana-era White House and Gaddi Baithak is also being restructured through Hanumandhoka Durbar Museum Development Committee.
Office Chief Khanal informed that the Agamchee House and Shiva temple are being rebuilt with the grant aid of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
