Birgunj, April 6: A total of 299 small industries were registered in women’s names in the first eight months of the current fiscal year in Parsa.
This development follows the government’s decision to levy just a 35 percent fee for the registration of business enterprises under women’s ownership.
According to Dhananjay Kumar Singh, Chief of the Office of Cottage and Small Industries, an average of 10-12 industries are being registered in the district daily.
In the first eight months of the current fiscal year, a total of 673 new industries were registered in the district, with 299 of them owned by women.
These industries span sectors such as sewing and cutting, beauty treatment, pisciculture, agriculture, and livestock farming.
The Office reports that 1,709 males and 1,280 females are employed in these newly established industries and enterprises.
It is estimated that revenue exceeding Rs 5.4 million has been accumulated to the State coffers from the registration and renewal of these industries. #Nepal
