Govt. to focus on improving country’s economy: PM Dahal



Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the government will be focused on improving the country’s economy.

During a meeting with office-bearers of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Prime Minister Dahal said he was well aware about the problems facing the country’s economy.

“The country’s economy is going through complex and challenging times. The government is aware about increased interest rate and liquidity crunch. It will now focus on ways to improving the economy,” he said.

The government was committed to converting the current challenge of economy into opportunity. “It is responsibility of all to save the country’s economy through collective efforts. The government will move ahead prioritizing the public-private partnership.”

Similarly, NCC Chairperson Rajendra Malla drew government’s attention on present economic condition and added that investment-friendly environment has not been created due to high interest rate and liquidity crunch.

“Single digit interest rate should be maintained to achieve government’s goal double-digit economic growth.”

The NCC on the occasion also submitted eight-point memorandum to PM Dahal.
